TOP Tips for Sharing YouTube Videos via Social Media

TOP Tips for Sharing YouTube Videos via Social Media
What are the best ways to distribute your YouTube videos across social media to places like Facebook, Google+, Tumblr, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, WordPress, Reddit, or even SlideShare? We answer these questions and more this week on ReelSEO TubeTalk: YouTube Video Marketing Tips, with hosts:
Tip #1: Best Ways to Share YouTube Videos on Social Media via YouTube’s Share button, Facebook, Google+ and Tumblr

YouTube’s “Share” feature:

Tim Schmoyer says that the “Share” link under each video is easy to share on any social network. Click on your social media network of choice and it pops up. Then hit “Publish.”

Share YouTube Videos on Facebook

Tim likes to create a screenshot image of his videos or the thumbnail and upload that to Facebook, then he puts a link to the video in the description. People will click like for the images and are more likely to click on the videos. Just posting a link on Facebook doesn’t get as much attention because it takes up less real estate, although it does allow you to play the video within Facebook.
Views of YouTube within the Facebook platform – you could call them “embedded views,” also don’t count as high on YouTube’s Watch Time rating system. So if you’re trying to rack up SEO, it’s better to send people directly to YouTube. Liking a picture ranks the post higher in Facebook’s EdgeRank so it gets more exposure among your Facebook followers.

Share YouTube Videos on Google+

Keep keyword/SEO in mind. Give it a good description. Tim often sees Google+ posts rank higher in Google search results than the video itself. See this video on how to share YouTube videos on Google+:

Share YouTube Videos on Tumblr

Use good hashtags on Tumblr because people browse them as well. See this video on how to share YouTube videos on Tumblr:
Matt Ballek says that when deciding where and when to post your YouTube video on social media networks, don’t just post everywhere just because. Think about where you have an audience. If you don’t have an audience on a social media platform or if you’re not participating there, then don’t add that to your promotion schedule.
Ask yourself: Will this content add value to the audience where you’re posting it? Is it editorial in nature, or just an advertisement?

Tip #2: Ideas for Sharing YouTube Videos via Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest and WordPress?

Share YouTube videos on Twitter

Dane Golden says that it’s very easy to post to Twitter – just post a link. But you have to be present on Twitter, and so does you community. Posting your video on Twitter makes sure there’s an archive for anyone who goes directly to your Twitter account.
Tim Schmoyer actually uses Twitter more than YouTube comments – he gets the most engagement there, great retweets, etc. He points out that PewDiePie also uses Twitter as it’s easier than managing YouTube comments, which he’s cut off.
Share YouTube Videos on LinkedIn

This is a very good platform for business. Dane gets more leads here than any other social media. You can add videos to your LinkedIn profile or you company’s page. To add video to the profile is easy, it’s just like a Facebook status update. But to add video to the page takes a few steps.

Share YouTube Videos on Pinterest

Pinterest is great for sharing video about visual products that cater to mostly to women. Matt says that Pinterest is a great platform that does a great job with displaying videos, and you can actually create boards for certain topics that include your videos and other images. It’s a good place to post your YouTube videos if it adds value – but not if it’s simply a pre-roll advertisement. See this video for how to share YouTube videos on Pinterest

Tip #3: Ideas for Sharing YouTube Videos via Reddit and SlideShare

Share YouTube Videos on Reddit

Matt Ballek says that Reddit is sort of like the “Fight Club” of link sharing, except there are more rules and lower levels of physical fitness. ReelSEO editor Carla Marshall recently wrote a great article on how to use Reddit.
Reddit is a very democratic website, where you can vote pieces of content up or down. It has communities centered around what people are passionate about, called subreddits. These are separate communities on Reddit that have their own editors (redditors). It’s helpful to do a search on Reddit for communities that might be relevant to your business in which you could participate and share.
It’s best not to start posting on your first day – self-promotion is highly frowned upon and can create significant problems for you. So first, participate in subreddits that are relevant to your particular channel. This is a good way to gauge how the community responds to your type of info. Then participate by voting things up or down and commenting on things. Then, after a while, you might be able to nudge your content into the conversation without upsetting too many community members.
Tim Schmoyer says that poorly-executed promotion can lead to negative campaigns launched against a brands that didn’t follow “reddiquette,” the etiquette for Reddit. If you nail the process, though, Reddit can be a goldmine for views. But it’s best to never seed it yourself, rather hope that reputable redditors do it instead. Matt added that it’s best to join a conversation already happening about your video. See this video on how to utilize Reddit for YouTube views:

Share YouTube Videos on SlideShare

SlideShare, now owned by LinkedIn, is like an online version of PowerPoint or Keynote. It’s an online repository of presentations. You can upload .ppt, .key, or .pdf files – slideshow versions of YouTube. You can include YouTube as its own slide as part of a presentation, or create links within presentations that drive people to a YouTube video.
If you want to drive people to YouTube from SlideShare, create a new presentation that uses your video as a stopping point as part of that presentation. Or recreate certain videos as a full-on presentation. Or you can have a single-slide presentation that is your YouTube video, but that’s low SEO because there’s no text attached. The real value of SlideShare is that it’s very optimized as it indexes the text from presentations which gives good SEO. So Matt says a presentation with video included is a winning combination. See this video on how to add Youtube videos to SlideShare presentations:

7 Ways to set up your Auto Tweets

7 Ways to set up your Auto Tweets

7 YEARS AGO BY RICHARD DARELL
One of the most talked about controversies on Twitter. Some use it to spam while some use it to tweet while they are offline to get some sleep. Some use it just to…auto tweet. Even though it’s highly effective in normal dozes it can be quite an energy drain for your followers. However, it is a legit endeavour if you stick to the rules and regulations set up by Twitter. After all, their regulations are set up to make sure we don’t get over-spammed with stuff and if you stick to them you should be fine. But for some setting up a few auto tweets can be quite an obstacle and to choose the right software or service can be the difference between losing or winning your followers trust.
Every service has their own learning curve and the skills you need to set them up varies a lot. Therefore I have gone ahead and created a list of ways to set up your auto tweets depending on what you are after. If you know of another service or script that might help set up your auto tweets please don’t hesitate to letting us know in the comment area in this post.

7 Ways To Set Up Your Auto Tweets

1. Hootsuite

The primery source and utility for auto tweets and by far the most used one on Twitter. It is not only for auto tweeting. It also has features like Personalized TabsPersonalized ColumnsMultiple Twitter AccountsTeam Work FlowEmbedded ColumnsTrack StatisticsCreate GroupsFeed Your RSS etc.

2. Twitter Feed

A simple to use and an effective solution for auto tweeting to Twitter and Facebook from your RSS feed. It doesn’t have as many bling features as Hootsuite but has a few really powerful and user friendly ones that will be more than enough. You simply set up your RSS feed to either send tweets or to update your Facebook status. Twitter Feed also have statistics which will enable you to track your success rate.

3. Tweet Spinner

This online service provides quite a lot of fancy and interesting features. Its main feature is to help you clean up your Twitter Inbox from spam. But, it also allows you to schedule your tweets (auto-tweet) and also rotate your profile background picture to keep it fresh and up to date. I haven’t tried this one yet but its features are quite interesting.

4. Social Oomph

Or Tweet Later as it was named before is quite an interesting application if you’re looking for really sophisticated features to serve you and your followers. It provides a free and a professional service with a few extra features if you’re choosing the professional paid solution. I definite try out if you want to get some strong features.

5. Feedburner

Yeah, you read it right. Feedburner now provides a nice way of auto tweeting your newest blog posts by just entering your Twitter account information into the “Feedburner Socialize” tab on your Feedburner account. It doesn’t provide you with a lot of fancy features but it sure is a powerful way of making sure your blog posts gets tweeted in time.

6. Pretty Link

One of the most used WordPress plug-ins to enable you to auto tweet your blog posts when you publish them. The real problem with auto tweet WordPress plug-ins has always been that they don’t seem to work on scheduled posts. But if you want to just publish your posts yourself then this plug-in is highly recommended.

7. AutoTweeter

This is a windows based desktop application that will help you schedule your tweets in the time frame that you feel will benefit your followers. I have personally always been against desktop auto tweeters for some reason but as usual it’s your own choice. This however is also a paid application so think twice before you decide to try it out.

7 Big Mistakes New Affiliate Marketers Make

7 Big Mistakes New Affiliate Marketers Make

When I first started in affiliate marketing, all I wanted was to just make money. Off I ran in every direction, trying everything, with no real idea of the mistakes I was making that could very well affect my chances at long term success.

Through my years of experience with both affiliate marketing and teaching other affiliate marketers, I have come to the conclusion that there are 7 big mistakes new affiliate marketers make.
Let’s talk about these mistakes in more detail.
7 mistakes new affiliate marketers make

1) Selling Rather Than Helping

Yes, the word “marketing” is part of the phrase affiliate marketing, but for the most part, our job as an affiliate is not to sell — that is the job of the sales page our affiliate links lead the reader to.
When I first started, my overwhelming (and totally naive) impulse was to fill my pages with words and links that screamed “BUY THIS NOW!”. I didn’t help the reader learn why they should have this product. I only wanted them to click a link which would hopefully lead to a commission for me.

People want to hear from other people when making a decision to buy a product or not — that’s why the reviews on Amazon products are so powerful. Those reviews are genuine feedback from people who (usually) have absolutely nothing to gain if someone buys that product or not.
When we talk more like an unbiased reviewer rather than a high-pressure salesperson, we will find we make more sales and people will come back for advice on other products in the future.

2) Too Many!

This is another big mistake I made when starting out — joining any and every affiliate program I came across. While I absolutely do believe in cultivating multiple streams of income when working online, there is a point where you have too much to deal with and it becomes unmanageable.
Choose your affiliate programs wisely and don’t overload yourself.

3) Not Testing

Whenever I choose to promote a Clickbank offer (for example), I put myself in the shoes of a potential customer and opt in to test the vendors’ follow up sequence.
I learned this the hard way.

Nothing breaks a reader’s trust more than being led to a promotion that will blow up their inbox. Put yourself in the shoes of a potential customer and see what will happen if they follow your advice.

4) Not Tracking

This was a BIG mistake I made when I first started out. I began my affiliate marketing career using free-to-make web pages on a site called Squidoo (and I still do this to this day).
I am fond of promoting Amazon products on these pages, but would forget to use unique tracking affiliate links on each page.

Why is this a mistake? Very simple — when you make a sale, you want to know WHERE the sale came from. This enables you to know which pages are converting well so you can grow and scale that campaign.
Creating a unique tracking ID for an Amazon link is easy. Simply log in to your Amazon affiliate dashboard, click “Account Settings” at the very top on the right, then click “Manage Tracking IDs”. From there you can make a new tracking ID so you can track which web page/campaign sold what.  You can learn more about using Amazon’s Tracking IDs here.

Yes, making any commission is cool, but knowing where and how you made that commission is what makes you a better marketer. It lets you grow and scale your campaigns — as opposed to working blindly.

5) Not Comparing

One of the best converting tactics I use to sell affiliate products online (especially physical products from Amazon) is to compare the “main” product with two other similar products.
When people are in buying mode for a physical product, they tend to have their options narrowed down to 2 or 3 and need help making the choice that is best for them.
By comparing the “3 Best Widgets For _______”, I not only help my readers make a choice, but I also have my affiliate links there for THREE products instead on only one.
Over time, when I track that web page, I will be able to see which product is most interesting to readers and move the best converting product to the top of the page for better CTR.
Comparison web pages are not only very popular and helpful for readers, they are also very profitable for you.

6) Make Money Online Products

Perhaps you’ve seen this before. You’re in a “learn online marketing” type forum. A person publishes a post complaining that they can’t make a dime online. But in their signature line they have something along the lines of “I Made 50 Million Dollars with This” followed by their affiliate link.
It happens all the time. Please, don’t be that person.
Configure TagCopy to clipboard
If you’re new and you want to promote products in the Make Money Online arena, don’t make false claims that it made you money. In fact, don’t make false claims at all!
Sure, talk about the benefits of the product/training — maybe even why it sounds awesome to you — but don’t try to trick people. You will ruin your credibility.

7) “Oh Look! A Butterfly!”

This is the biggest downfall for any new affiliate marketer. In fact, it can cause really big issues for seasoned affiliate marketers as well.
It is all too common to be working on one thing when all of a sudden, something “shiny” comes through your inbox or is mentioned in a forum you frequent. Then off you go chasing some new idea to make money online.

Ignore the “butterflies” that are sure to fly by on a constant basis. They will just distract you from your project/campaign at hand. One completed and profitable campaign is worth so much more than 50 almost half-finished campaigns or projects.
Affiliate marketing is a business that requires self-motivation and focus. For many of us, these are learned skills. Once you are aware of the the mistakes that can cause a lack of profits and productivity, you will be better able to grow your business and be profitable long-term.
Best of luck!!

What is a firewall?

What is a firewall?
A firewall is a software program or piece of hardware that helps screen out hackers, viruses, and worms that try to reach your computer over the Internet. If you can’t start Windows Firewall or you are getting an error, use our free tool to diagnose and fix problems.

  • Windows 8Windows 7Windows Vista, and Windows XP SP2 or higher have a firewall built-in and turned on by default. (Note: Support for Windows XP ended in April 2014.)
  • If you have more than one computer connected in the home, or if you have a small-office network, it is important to protect every computer. You should have a hardware firewall (such as a router) to protect your network, but you should also use a software firewall on each computer to help prevent the spread of a virus in your network if one of the computers becomes infected.
  • If your computer is part of a business, school, or other organizational network, you should follow the policy established by the network administrator.

visitor-based networking (VBN)

Configure TagCopy to clipboard

visitor-based networking (VBN)

Visitor-based networking (VBN) is the provision of high-speed Internet access for mobile PC users in need of temporary service in public places. A visitor-based network is most commonly established in a hotel, airport, convention center, press area, mall, university, sales center, or corporate meeting room. For years, mobile users were limited to analog dial-up connections through a PBX system or other proprietary network. Visitor-based networking goes a step further in creating a more efficient and effective work environment for them. It aims to give the on-the-go worker a productive way to temporarily connect PCs to local LANs and broadband Internet connections.
A visitor-based network usually includes hardware (such as servers, hubs, and routers), telecommunications (an Internet connection), software (a browser), and service (telephone support). Virtually any Internet-based EthernetLAN can become a visitor-based network by adding a server. The server provides the necessary layer of management between public users and the gateway router to enable a seamless connection for visitors. A successful visitor-based network usually also features additional services like printing and customer support. Many ISPs are building broadband access networks in public places to enable more efficient visitor-based networks.
Technology vendors have developed ways to package their network offerings with billing and management applications that make offering temporary Internet access more than just a convenience, but also a viable business. The key commercial player in the visitor-based networking arena is 3Com; smaller vendors include Elastic Networks and Tut Systems. IT analyst Gartner Group projects the remote Internet access market will hit $31 billion by 2003. It also forecasts that by 2005 half of all remote business users will have remote access connections that are faster than analog modems.
